Associate Software Engineer, Atmel Studio – Tool Chain

  • Will be working as part of the Atmel compiler development team in developing /extending / customizing Compilers and compiler tool chains based on GCC tool chain
  • Work in design, development and support of GCC tool chain for Atmel's microcontrollers
  • Participate and drive R&D activities related to compiler optimizations, compiler platform extensions etc.

Mandatory Skills
  • Experience in the architecture, design and implementation of compiler components
  • Experience in working on GCC, GNU Binutils, C libraries a big plus
  • Good knowledge of Object Oriented Design techniques and Design Patterns
  • Strong in C/C++ programming
  • Test-driven development experience and good knowledge of unit testing tools (eg: NUnit) is desirable
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience in embedded processor architectures and concepts and software tools for embedded processors
  • Good Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Autonomous, creative and pro-active team player

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in working on all aspects of the GNU/LLVM/Open source compiler tool Chains: assembler, linker, compiler, C libraries, utilities
  • Knowledge of popular embedded processors, e.g., AVR, ARM, MIPS, DSPs
  • Experience working in Cygwin and MinGW environments
  • Experience in working with large, open source software projects, a big plus

Education:Bachelors/Masters/Phd degree in CS/ECE/EEE

Experience:0 to 3 years of industry experience in compiler technology and related backend tools.
