A lot of companies will either hire an external firm or have a management off-site meeting where, over a couple of good bottles of wine, 10 people do this. It took us 5 months to do our mission statement because we did it from the bottom up. We took in every idea. We had debates. We had work groups. It changed, and it was modified and tweaked. But by the time we finished, everybody knows our mission statement and the subtleties of every word.
Job Description:
Responsibilities :
1. Design, develop, and debug the storage file system
2. Build and assemble prototypes as required with assistance from senior engineers on the team
3. Deliver high-quality products that are extensible and scalable within the specified timeline
4. Participate in and contribute to code reviews
5. Identify product requirements and potential improvements
6. Participate in the complete software development life cycle, from requirement gathering to product deployment
7. Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems
8. Debug and resolve field issues
9. Document code consistently throughout the development process
10. Review changes in code and environment that will affect system performance
Candidate Profile:
Required skills :
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or higher, or other technical degree with relevant experience is preferred
2. Extensive working knowledge of C, C++, and Makefiles
3. Excellent data structure and algorithm skills
4. Experience with operating systems and Linux
5. Knowledge of free and open source software development concepts and methodologies
6. Ability to multi-task while delivering quality work
7. Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
