After independence, the Ministry of Defence was created under the charge of a Cabinet Minister and each Service was placed under its own Commander-in-Chief. In 1955, the Commanders-in-Chief were renamed as the Chief of the Army Staff, the Chief of the Naval Staff and the Chief of the Air Staff.
Job Description:
1. Applications are invited from male candidates for recruitment in the Army as Havildar Education in the Army Education Corps in Group X & Y. Candidates hailing only from districts of Visakhapatnam
Educational Qualification :
The candidates must have working knowledge of either English or Hindi and should have graduate/post graduated from a recognized university with any one of the following subjects at PG/Graduation level:
A. Science Stream.
1. M.Sc/B.Sc/MCA/BCA/B.Tech/B.Sc (IT) with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biology, Electronics, Computer Science, Geology.
B. Art Stream.
1. M.A/B.A with English Literature, Hindi Literature, Urdu Literature, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Psychology, Mathematics, Sociology

Note:
1. Candidates declared medically unfit either Temporary/Permanent can appeal for review to nominated Army/Navy/Air Force hospitals within stipulated time.
2. They will however be permitted to appear in the written test.
3. Only those candidates found medically fit will be called for interview
